Bellaire, Texas
The house tells the story of a London home in Texas. Inspired by European Neotraditional Architecture, the overall shape and arrangement of home exude quiet and confident grace as it sits on a double lot property. The restrained brick details compliments the modest and elegant style of the clients. The brick is expressed in two textures, and along with the clean lines of the siding and eaves, it adds sophisticated layers to the façade. The use of steel doors on the interior, and the front door with its custom trim and brass hardware is a direct inspiration from modern London townhomes.
The interior continues the language of modern and clean lines as shown in the trim profiles and dark paneled cased openings. The quality of light, hand scraped white oak floors, and fabric selections bring in a softness that sits in balance with bolder design choices, such as dark kitchen cabinets, dramatic stairs, and distinct library.
