The residence is located on a quiet street in the Museum District near Rice University. The property is broad with two magnificent oak trees in the front yard, alley access and townhomes to the rear. A U shaped plan with a focus towards the front yard was developed in an effort to provide privacy from adjacent townhomes. One story wings frame the pool while the main two story volume, containing the second floor bedrooms and shared rooftop terrace, directs the views towards this space. The house is austere and inspired in part by the elegance of Hollywood Regency. Ebonized floors, white marble, and minimal detailing adorn the interiors. The exterior is stucco with large expanses of steel windows and canvas awnings.
